Genome annotation - Drosophila simulans M252 strain

MAKER2 annotation of a <i>D. simulans</i> genome (M252 strain). The annotation contains 13,422 genes and 18,301 transcripts. It was performed after repeat masking by combining ab initio predictions from Augustus, RNAseq data from Palmieri <i>et al</i>. (2015, Molecular Ecology Resources), protein sequence data from <i>D. melanogaster</i> &amp; <i>D. simulans</i> and a de novo transcriptome obtained by PacBio full length sequencing of transcripts (IsoSeq pipeline, ~10Gb of raw data).All details are available in the publication referenced below.
