River red gum hollow-bearing tree data

Data used in publication "<i>Tree hollow decline in new forest reserves with a long history of logging"</i>. Data were collected in river red gum forests in Murray Valley National Park, Australia, between 2015 and 2016. Data were collected from 22 sites, which were equally replicated among two long-term water availability classes (Site Quality, SQ1 higher long term flood frequency and taller trees than and SQ2). Each site consisted of three plots that were 2 hectares in size. The total tree density (trees &gt;1.37m in height) per hectare is reported as the natural logarithm for each plot. Data include the total count of hollow bearing trees per hectare in each plot (Total_HBT), the number of hollow bearing trees that were living (Live_HBT) and dead (Dead_HBT), and the proportion of total hollow bearing trees that were dead (prop_dead).
