Digital Data from an Evaluation at Alban Mann Land, Bell Plantation Garden Centre, Towcester, Northampstonshire 2022

This collection comprises images and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation carried out by Cotswold Archaeology on the Alban Mann land at Bell Plantation Garden Centre, Towcester, Northamptonshire. The work took place between March and April 2022 as part of a planning requirement. A total of twelve trenches were excavated across the proposed development site, targeting anomalies identified by a preceding geophysical survey. A number of linear ditches and a scatter of apparently isolated small/medium sized pitswere encountered in the trenches. A human skull and several possible cremation vessels were also observed in the basal fill of a ditch in trench 12, most likely disturbed from elsewhere and discarded into the ditch.
