Salmo salar Transcriptome or Gene expression

This project is designed to supply information about transcriptional changes in the head kidney of Atlantic salmon after receiving four different feeds in comparison with a control feed. The feeds used in this experiment were krill meal, soymeal, bactocell and butyrate-rich diets. Transcriptional changes have been recorded after 12 weeks of feeding. Experimental workflow: All fish were randomly allocated to five feeds groups, using three replicate tanks. After 12 weeks of feeding period, the head kidney tissues was dissected according to standard guidelines and kept in RNA later at -80°c until extraction. RNA was extracted, qualityt-checked, and used to prepare RNA-seq libraries. Upon quality filtering, cleaned reads were mapped to the salmon reference genome to obtain gene expression levels.
