Placenta transcriptomic profiling in pregnancy with fetal growth restriction and normal

Fetal growth restriction (FGR) is a serious pathological complication associated with perinatal death and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Placental dysfunction is a major contributing factor to FGR, and the placental transcriptome can provide insight into the pathologic mechanisms of FGR. This study aimed to identify genes whose expression in placenta was associated with FGR and to discover specific features hidden in FGR-related placenta transcriptome. Therefore, transcriptomic data were obtained by RNA sequencing on placenta samples from 6 FGR patients and 6 normal term-pregnant women.
