Dataset of brown trout populations monitoring in Sierra Nevada (Spain)

This dataset provides long-term information about brown trout populations present in the Sierra Nevada National and Natural Park (southern Spain), gathered through one of the Sierra Nevada Global-Change Observatory's monitoring methodologies. The dataset comprises: 156 sampling events conducted between 2007 and 2023 in 10 rivers, 8,000 occurrence records of brown trout individuals and 46,138 records of associated measurements (45 variables: 5 associated with occurrences and 40 to sampling events). This dataset is key for brown trout conservation and management, given that Andalusia represents the southwestern limit of this species in Europe. This information will be valuable for those studying past distributions and abundances of the brown trout, as a basis for building predictive models or studying temporal trends.
