Polymer types and incubation time shape pathogen and antibiotic resistance profiles on aquaculture plastics

We analyzed metabarcoding results to compare the bacterial pathobiome and resistome associated to various solid substrates that can be used as equipment in aquaculture, including two polyamide (PA) nets with different mesh size, a polyester (PE) liner three plastic substrates, and a hemp net, a new alternative to plastic net. We followed up the communities over a three-month incubation in a marine aquaculture pond.
