Presence-absence records of the Diadematidae species through the Mediterranean Sea. Marchesi et al. 2025

The main Dataset contains 3314 records of the two Diadematidae species occurring in Mediterranean Sea: Centrostephanus longispinus and Diadema setosum, retrieved from various sources. For each record the geographic coordinates, all the available information of the sighting (e.g., sampling depth, temperature, number of individuals, colouration, exposure, substrate type) and source have been added. It represent the largest dataset on spatial and temporal distribution of the two species, used both to build distribution maps and to implement Generalized Additive Models.
