Live-Seeded Y2038 Continuity, Real 32-bit Consumer Remediation, and Two-Node Operational Consistency
收藏资源简介:
This dataset extends the earlier two-node Y2038 continuity evidence by adding a stronger real-consumer remediation layer, a generic shim control, practical local overhead measurements, live-seeded runs derived from the real GAL-2 API, and a synchronized two-node continuity run. The package includes: Node A: Debian i386 environment Node B: macOS arm64 environment It documents four connected evidence layers: Real 32-bit consumer remediation An unmodified GNU Make 4.3 i386 binary was tested across post-2038 file-timestamp scenarios. RAW execution produced Y2038-related pathologies such as Timestamp out of range and Clock skew detected. A generic safe-date shim did not cleanly remediate the tested file-metadata consumption path. GAL-2 restored correct dependency-resolution behavior in the tested cases. Generic shim comparison This dataset does not only compare GAL-2 against failure. It also compares GAL-2 against a generic safe-date shim. In the tested GNU Make scenario, the generic safe-date shim did not cleanly restore correct behavior, while GAL-2 did. Practical local overhead Local benchmarks measured time(), gettimeofday(), and clock_gettime(CLOCK_REALTIME). In the tested Debian i386 environment, GAL-2 local mediation remained in a practical local-call overhead range and was materially lighter than the generic safe-date shim in the measured run. Live-seeded and two-node continuity The package includes runs seeded from the real GAL-2 API. It also includes a synchronized two-node run where both nodes used the same live GAL-2 API seed, derived the same mediated continuity base, and followed the same mediated-second progression. Key result This dataset shows that coherence alone is not enough, but it also goes further: RAW execution can remain pathological even when some surface behavior appears to continue. A generic safe-date shim is not enough to cleanly remediate the tested consumer path. GAL-2 was the only evaluated approach in this package that both restored correct operational behavior and removed the observed Y2038-related pathologies in the tested GNU Make i386 scenario. The same live GAL-2 seed also supported consistent two-node mediated continuity behavior across heterogeneous nodes. Defensible claim For the tested scenarios in this package, GAL-2 demonstrated post-Y2038 operational continuity for a real 32-bit legacy-consumer path, including an unmodified GNU Make i386 binary, more cleanly than RAW execution and more effectively than a generic safe-date shim in the tested setup. The package also shows practical local overhead and a synchronized two-node continuity run seeded from the live GAL-2 API. Scope note This is not a universal claim for all legacy systems, all kernels, or all 32-bit software. It is a controlled empirical package showing that GAL-2 provides a credible and tested post-Y2038 survival path for the included real-consumer and two-node scenarios.
