Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has been recognized as a global challenge threatening human and animal health. However, we are far from knowing all the consequences of AMR on human, ani-mal and ecosystem health. The scope of the present study was to use publicly available meta-genomes from activated sludge and wastewater treatment plants to decipher ARG compositions and abundance present in metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) and Mobile genetic elements (MGEs) such as plasmids and chromosomes.
