This dataset contains wave overtopping data (volumes, event numbers, wave characteristics) obtained from hydrodynamic flume measurements (wave gauges, GoPro cameras) on three 'Living Seawall' panel topographies with and without seaweed models, at COAST Lab, University of Plymouth, UK. Data furthermore contains cover area and density of natural fucoid seaweeds on the 'Living Seawall in Plymouth', used to simulate natural seaweed abundance in the flume. The data were obtained to understand how topography and artificial seaweed cover influence hydrodynamics (wave overtopping) on different panel designs of an intertidal eco-engineering installation. Data were obtained by Franz Bauer (University of Plymouth) from August to December 2024 through flume laboratory work and in-situ seaweed surveys in the intertidal zone (3 m above chart datum). These data were generated as part of the PhD project titled "Retrospective optimisation of multifunctionality on coastal urban infrastructure", funded by the Natural Environment Research Council ARIES Doctoral Training Partnership (grant number NE/S007334/1), University of Plymouth and Arup.
