Transcriptomic changes in Pennisetum violaceum in response to salt and drought stress. Cenchrus violaceus cultivar:PI564586

15 days old pennisetum violaceum seeds were subjected to 150mM salt and 15% PEG induced drought stress for 24h. RNA was isolated from leaf and root tissues.cDNA libraries were constructed and sequenced using Illumina HiSeq 2500 Platform to generate 100 bp PE reads.Quality of reads were assessed and de novo transcriptome assembly was performed using Trinity. The reads were annotated and statistical analysis including count normalization and differential expression was performed with edgeR. Differentially expressed genes under stress conditions were analyzed further.
