资源简介:
Galveston is a barrier island on the Texas coast approximately 50 miles southeast of Houston. This island has been historically impacted by hurricane/storm events such as Hurricane Ike in 2008. The inventory data for the power transmission and distribution system of Galveston Island presented here was developed using publicly available data sources, along with post-processing, expert judgement, and inference. The electric power network (EPN) inventory data comprises the following items: a) distribution system point data including the location, class, height, and span length of wood poles, b) distribution system connectivity, c) transmission system data including the location of towers, and the location of prestressed concrete poles, d) transmission system connectivity, and e) the location of substations and access points.
This dataset is designed to be used along with wind-surge-wave fragility functions. An example of such functions was proposed by [1]. Please note that since the fragilities in [1] are only generated for Class 3, 4 and 5 wood poles, the dataset also maps wood poles to match those classes. There are Class 1 and 2 wood poles as well as Prestressed Concrete (PC) poles that are mostly used in the transmission system of Galveston Island. Currently, there is no fragility functions available for those pole types. We plan to publish a new set of fragilities for those poles in near future. Once such fragilities are published, we will update the dataset to include Class 1 and 2 wood poles too.
