资源简介:
This dataset contains dialogues elicited morphosyntactic data (including possessive and verbal subject-marking paradigms) from Batta with Ema Sawoy (born 1970), a native speaker of Batta. Morphosyntactic features elicited include mode markers; checks on verbal classes; object pronouns; and noun phrase co-ordination. The possessed nouns in the possessive paradigms are 'canoe', 'grandchild', 'head', and 'eye'. The verbal subject-marking paradigm was elicited for the verb 'to descend'. Some information on spatial orientation is also included in the fieldnotes, although this data was not recorded. The session was recorded on 17 December 2019, in Yenenas village (Batanta island, Raja Ampat regency, Southwest Papua province, Indonesia). This dataset relates to the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship 'Synchronic and diachronic investigations in Raja Ampat-South Halmahera, a little-known subbranch of Austronesian' (PF19@004); additional fieldwork funds were provided by a Moray Endowment Grant from the University of Edinburgh. Further deposits are available in the related DataShare sub-community (https://datashare.ed.ac.uk/handle/10283/8573).
