Orthomosaic and digital surface model of the Browning Peninsula Soil Biodiversity Transect

This dataset includes an 8 hectare orthomosaic and digital surface model from the Browning Peninsula, Windmill Islands, East Antarctica.It covers the location of the 300m long soil biodiversity transect initially sampled in 2005/06 as part of the Australian Antarctic Antarctic Science Project 2952 (Spatial variability in polar soil ecosystems) and sampled again in 2019 as part of Australian Antarctic Science Project 4406. This dataset was acquired for Australian Antarctic Science Project 4503.Orthomosaic was generated from 250 overlapping photographs taken using a DJI Zenmuse P1 RGB camera with 35mm lens, equipped on a DJI M300 Quadcopter (drone/RPA), using a standard mapping mission designed with DJI Pilot. Drone flights and surveying done by Dr Rebecca McWatters, Dr Gwil Price, Kasey Williams and Johan Mets. Data processed by Dr Dan Wilkins.
