Genome Sequencing of 19 clownfish species

We acquired genomic resources of 19 clownfish species (Amphiprion akindynos, A. allardi, A. barberi, A. chagosensis, A. chrysogaster, A. chrysopterus, A. ephippium, A. fuscocaudatus, A. latezonatus, A. latifasciatus, A. mccullochi, A. ocellaris, A. omanensis, A. pacificus, A. polymnus, A. rubrocinctus, A. sandaracinos, A. tricinctus, Premnas biaculeatus). The availability of genomic resources for clownfish species is valuable for the advancing of studies of the particular life-history traits of clownfishes, and it opens the way to comparative genomics. Indeed, genomic comparison among closely related fishes provides means to identify genes related to the unique adaptations to the sea anemone hosts.
