资源简介:

While the modern library benefits from various AI technologies and digital services, patrons who visit a library still has the nostalgia of physical books – the sound of a page turning, sense of paper in your hands, and even the smell of a book. This is the reason why the Digital Book Kiosk was introduced. DBK is a media that integrates digital multimedia curation functionalities with the analogue feel of reading and touching a book. DBK brings multimedia storytelling directly onto the pages of a book by layering projection-based media onto a physical book. It reinterprets rare texts and visual heritage as interactive multimedia experiences. The DBK was developed in collaboration with the National Library of Korea and other institutions. Featured works include the Chungung Ganghakdo court paintings animated into 2D motion sequences, Jikji - the world's oldest surviving metal-type print - reimagined through ink-wash animation, and the Poetry of Jeong Mong-ju expressed as dynamic calligraphic forms. Each case highlights how conventional analogue interactions are combined with integrated multimedia capabilities such as interactive touch, animations and videos to create a new immersive experience. Patrons visiting the library get to have a 'Hands on Experience' to rare manuscripts and art.
