Response of symbiotic dinoflagellates to nanoplastic exposure

Plastic products are known to accumulate in the environment and largely contribute to the anthropogenic pollution of the oceans. However, little is known about the interactions between nanoplastics and marine organisms. In this study symbiotic dinoflagellates, Symbiodinium tridacnidorum and Cladocopium sp., were incubated with 42 nanometer polystyrene beads for ~10 days and subjected to RNA-seq analysis.
