Foam cell transcriptomes were generated by high-throughput RNA sequencing. Total RNA was extracted with Trizol, quality assessed on the Bioanalyzer 2100, and libraries sequenced on the Illumina HiSeq X Ten platform. Clean reads were mapped to the reference genome using HISAT2, and expression levels were quantified with StringTie. Differentially expressed genes were identified with DESeq (FDR < 0.05, |fold change| > 1), followed by GO enrichment analysis using topGO.
