Our study evaluates the effectiveness of the 2017 First-Grade Science Textbooks in primary schools across China. This research focuses on the current status of science class implementation, the structure and presentation of the science textbooks, and students' perceptions regarding satisfaction, difficulty, and usefulness. The survey collected data from 121,757 first-grade students across 23 provinces, five autonomous regions, and four municipalities, providing a comprehensive analysis of the 2017 science curriculum standards.
