Aging and Inflation

This repository contains the replication materials for “Aging and Inflation: Irreversible Capital, Demographic Transitions, and the Shifting Phillips Curve” by Yongheng Deng, Tomoo Inoue, Kiyohiko Nishimura, and Chihiro Shimizu. The package provides independent Python and R implementations of the empirical and calibration analyses, together with redistributable derived inputs, archived outputs, documentation, and verification tools. The public-data pipeline reproduces all analyses that do not require proprietary data. The Consensus Forecasts expected-inflation series is proprietary and is not redistributed. The relevant variables are retained as empty placeholders for structural compatibility. Researchers with a valid licence may merge their own annual Consensus Forecasts data by country and year to reproduce the specifications that use expected inflation. The code is released under the MIT License. Redistributable derived data and documentation are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, subject to the terms of the original data providers.
