NRS-4227 | Administrative files [Ethnic Affairs Commission]

These files which bear an "E" prefix were culled out of the Commission's administrative correspondence system. They include some files which were originally registered by the Ethnic Affairs Division of the Premier's Department, then re-registered by the Commission when the two bodies merged in December 1978. The files consist of progress reports from different sections of the Commission; policy statements; press releases issued by the Commission; reports to the Premier; liaison reports from regional offices; correspondence regarding the proposed merger of the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) with the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC); submissions to the investigation into Ethnic Affairs held by the Commission; representations from groups and individuals showing substantive involvement by the Commission; complaints regarding Chetnik groups marching in the ANZAC Day parade; migrant assistance directories and allegations of discrimination against migrant workers in the State Rail Authority; correspondence and minutes of the Ethnic Communities Council of New South Wales; papers relating to the Balbally report; Migrant Assistance Directories; papers and correspondence relating to Commissions of Inquiry; and correspondence relating to alteration of the constitution of the Palm Beach Surf Club.(18/263-267.1, 12/14686-747). 67 boxes (part).
