PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric work machine that allows for suppression of influence of powder dust on detection of a rotational position thereof. SOLUTION: An electric work machine 1 houses a motor 6 for rotating a rotary shaft 6a and a fan 10 for cooling inside a motor housing 2. The motor housing 2 has a bearing holding part 2a holding a bearing 28 supporting the rotary shaft 6a. The bearing holding part 2a has a recessed part 2e. The recessed part 2e is an annular groove part surrounding the rotary shaft 6a and a bearing housing part 2c when viewed form a longitudinal direction. A Hall element 42 detecting a rotational position of the rotary shaft 6a is positioned at the motor housing 2 by a sensor substrate 40. The Hall element 42 is positioned inside the recessed part 2e. The sensor substrate 40 closes an opening of the recessed part 2e. SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
