Whole genome sequencing of the Kazakhstan local cattle breeds

We sampled a total of 47 cattle samples (Kazakh white-headed cattle, n=12; Alatau cattle, n=12; Kazakh local breed, n=8; and Holstein cattle, n=15) from local breeds in Kazakhstan. Genomic DNA was isolated from whole-blood using the standard phenol-chloroform method. Sequencing was conducted using the DNBSEQ-T7 sequencing platform (MGI-Tech, Shenzhen, China) at Northwest A&F University.
