Macroecology, feasible sets, and integer partitioning

This is a talk I gave at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) on 14-Nov-2012 as the guest speaker for the college of math and science. The talk has two parts: 1.) a short introduction to macroecology 2.) a description of research into macroecological patterns using feasible sets (i.e. the set of all possible form an ecological pattern or distribution of wealth can take). Integer partitioning is used as the method for examining feasible sets and predicting distributions based solely on the total community abundance (or wealth) and the number of species (or number of entities, in general). Each slide in the PowerPoint is annoted with detailed comments and explanation.
