Impact of a 4-bacteria probiotic mix against Salmonella colonization: immune response and gut microbiota composition

In this study we measured the the impact of a 4-bacteria probiotic mix, inoculated just after hatching, on the outcome of a Salmonella experimental infection performed 7 days later. This impact has been assessed at several levels including (1) the patterns of immune genes experssion (2) the gut microbiota composition, characterized using a 16S metabarcoding approach.
