CENAPT_BotanicalID_DNAbarcoding

This folder contains a detailed DNA barcoding protocol (PDF file) that enables non-specialists and phytochemists to perform DNA-based identification of botanical samples. Six different plant materials including different plant parts were studied. The DNA sequences obtained from each genomic region and each plant material are freely available as ".seq" and ".ab1" files that can be analyzed using Free software such as ApE or SerialCloner. The data set contains one zip file per plant material, and one PDF with the analyzed DNA sequences. The data set also contains a document that compiles the results of microscopic analyses and phytochemical fingerprints obtained for each of the studied plant material for their identification. Collectively, the DNA, microscopic, and phytochemical parameters can establish the botanical integrity of the investigated plant material.
