资源简介:
Scaly-foot snail, tentatively named ‘Crysomallon squamiferum’, was for the first in 2001. The snail lives a sedentary life at the base of black-smoker chimneys in the Kairei hydrothermal field in the Indian Ocean. The sclerites cover the sides of the foot in a roof-tile fashion. The gastropod houses densely a member of the order Thiotrichales within the cells of its greatly enlarged esophageal gland. Little is known about physiological characteristics and ecological significance of endosymbionts. We therefore performed the genome analysis on the symbiont of scaly-foot snail. The complete genome sequence and comparative genome analysis among Thiotrichales symbionts will provide important insights into their evolution, physiological functions, and interactions with their host animals
