Scoping review protocol paracanoe

AbstractObjective: To systematically map the available evidence on sprint paracanoe kayak (KL1-KL3) regarding the relationship between sport classification and performance, describing the variables investigated, measurement approaches, contexts, and declared theoretical-conceptual frameworks, and identifying evidence gaps.Background: Performance in 200 m sprint paracanoe kayak depends on the integration of technical, mechanical-propulsive and physiological components. Sport classification (KL1-KL3) is integral to interpreting differences in performance and its underlying determinants. The literature is relatively recent and heterogeneous in terms of study designs, settings and reported variables, making a scoping review appropriate to map the evidence base systematically.Eligibility criteria: Sources will be included if they involve sprint paracanoe kayak athletes in competition, training or sport-specific testing contexts, conducted on-water and/or on an ergometer/in a laboratory. Primary studies reporting original data and grey literature with adequate methodological description will be included. No language restrictions will be applied, provided a reliable translation can be obtained.Methods: The search will follow a three-step JBI search strategy in MEDLINE (via PubMed), Scopus, SPORTDiscus (via EBSCOhost) and Web of Science Core Collection, supplemented by grey literature (Google Scholar and repositories). Screening and data extraction will be conducted independently by two reviewers, with PRISMA-ScR 2018 used to report the selection flow.
