Human gut microbiota study of Sucrealose & Placebo consumption

It has been recently shown that the consumption of NAS could induce glucose intolerance. by altering in the gut microbiome. Most NAS used today are not absorbed in the small intestine. and while thought to be inert. they could be interacting in complex ways with the gut microbiome. The gut microbiome is a complex microbial community that has been assigned key roles in host health. and alterations in the gut microbiome have been shown to contribute to metabolic inflammatory and extra-intestinal diseases. The goal of this study was to evaluate the short-term impact of sucralose consumption (75% of the maximum ADI value for seven days) on the glycemic and insulinemic response of healthy young males, regard placebo consumption.
