资源简介:
Despite the prevalence of the Theory of Secularization, the populace within Western civilization does not lean towards atheism. The populace remains religious not only in the United States but also across Europe. However, unlike the United States, where Christianity remains the dominant religion, many parts of Europe exhibit adherence to non-Christian beliefs regarding the supernatural. This delineates the disparity in attendance at Christian church services despite the statistically significant proportion of religious adherents. Such a phenomenon has historical precedence in medieval Europe. Contrary to Europe, the resilience of Christian faith in the United States underscores values that foster higher church attendance. Congregations that uphold tougher expectations for both parishioners and clergy maintain higher rates of attendance at church services compared to those with more permissive requirements. Church groups benefiting from state financial backing lack the momentum to broaden their reach. State-endorsed favoritism or punitive measures targeting specific congregational groups contribute to diminished church attendance and the prevalence of non-Christian beliefs regarding the supernatural. The foundational tenets of the Christian faith remain relevant for contemporary adherents. Failure to profess and disseminate these tenets among the populace leads to the spiritual realm being not left vacant but rather filled with non-Christian beliefs concerning the supernatural.
