Geological mapping and sampling and detailed studies of the geology in the region of the Foster and Renegar Glaciers and between the Renegar and Blue Glaciers (targeted areas between Heald Island and the Hobbs Glacier)

Geological mapping and sampling was conducted in the region of the Foster and Renegar Glaciers (regional mapping conducted) and between the Renegar and Blue Glaciers (detailed studies of targeted areas between Heald Island and the Hobbs Glacier) were undertaken to complete work started by other authors and fill in gaps in the literature. The rocks were observed and sampled in the areas of the northern side of the Foster Glacier, the southern and northeastern side of the Renegar Glacier, Heald Island, Dismal Ridge, Rucker Ridge, Pipecleaner Ridge, Chancellar Lakes, Lake Miers, Hobbs Peak , the type sections in the Marshall and Garwood Valleys, Lake Pewe, the granties at the east end dais and on the floor of the Wright Valley between Lake Vanda and Bull Pass and the granites by Lake Vida.
