The Civic Citizen Survey 1990

The survey was conducted in connection with the project "the civic citizens in the welfare state", in NORAS' welfare program. The reason was the implementation of "the Civic Citizen Survey" in the Nordic countries. Researchers at the Institute for social research participated in the Swedish civic citizen survey and wanted to conduct a similar survey in Norway. At the same time as the Norwegian study was conducted, was the work of a questionnaire for a similar Danish study concluded. The contents of the questionnaires was therefore influenced by the other Nordic studies. The aim was to study how people in Norway are taking their rights and how they view the proposed changes in public services. And to increase the understanding of how the Norwegian democracy works through analysis of citizens' participation in political parties, organizations and unions, analyzing the consumption of public services and highlight knowledge of and attitudes to opportunities for influence in relation to various public benefits.
