The mechanisms underlying the action of algicidal bacteria Pseudalteromonas sp. LD-B1 against harmful algal bloom species Heterosigma akashiwo

Heterosigma akashiwo is a globally distributed harmful algal bloom species that has been observed to have substantial negative impacts on marine ecosystems. Previous studies have shown that Pseudalteromonas sp. LD-B1 exhibits effective and consistent algicidal activity against H. akashiwo. However, the specific molecular mechanism responsible for its ability to lyse these algae remains largely uninvestigated. To address this gap in knowledge, the present study employed transcriptomic profiling techniques to gain insights into the algicidal effects of LD-B1 on H. akashiwo.
