资源简介:
The Town of Chapel Hill, North Carolina has begun to study its watersheds and wishes to develop implementation plans for GSI retrofits in existing developments. The Town has chosen first to study roadside bioretention cell retrofits within the municipal right-of-way, with a geographic scope limited to the Lower Booker Creek watershed, a subwatershed of Booker Creek. Previous studies produced for the Town do not provide specific enough information to locate sites for these retrofits. This project provides the Town with a replicable model for identifying specific sites for retrofits using a screening suitability analysis in ArcGIS Pro. This project identifies 119 distinct road segments that can be considered for retrofits. Field verification of the suitability of each segment will be necessary, but preliminary evaluations of selected sites suggest that the analysis has successfully identified road segments with adequate right-of-way, limited buried infrastructure, and gentle slopes, and all of these segments are maintained by the Town, are near existing stormwater inlets and pipes, and are located in a residential zone to minimize traffic disruption.
