CyL Protected Places: WMS Service

Web map display service, according to the WMS-OGC standard, which covers the subject of protected sites (item 9, Annex I of the INSPIRE Directive: PS — Protected Sites).
The last topic in Annex I to the INSPIRE Directive is called Protected Areas and covers all areas established or managed by legislation — national, Community or international — that pursues specific conservation objectives. This is a practical adaptation, of an administrative nature, to the broader definition given by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) applied specifically to environmental issues.In the case of INSPIRE, there is also room for protected sites related to cultural heritage (buildings, archaeological sites, etc.), of geological value, etc.
Protected Areas may differ greatly depending on the reasons that have led to their protection, the way in which they have been designated or how they are managed. As a reference, the INSPIRE Working Group on this topic has used the Common Database on Designated Areas and the categories defined by IUCN, in addition to different regulatory laws and policies (the 1992 Habitat Directive, the 1979 Birds Directive, the 2000 Water Framework Directive, the 1971 Ramsar Convention, the 1975 World Heritage Convention, the Barcelona Convention of 1976, etc.).
