Protoplasmic astrocytes of varying sizes at 400× magnification in the multiform layer of the cerebral cortex. The sample is from the postmortem brain of a 40-year-old male who died due to electrocution. Cox-Golgi staining with eosin as a counterstain was used. Institutional ethical clearance was obtained (AIIMS/PAT/IEC/2023/1162).
