This data repository contains the relevant data that was used to estimate historical electricity consumption of computing devices. The manuscript associated with this dataset is under revision and is titled “Long run electricity consumption in computing: exponential growth followed by stabilisation due to efficiency gains”. It contains data for the period 1975-2022 for the following: - Number of devices - Information computed - Electricity consumption - Energy efficiency - Useful life of computing devices - Performance of computing devices (in MIPS) - Hours of use of computing devices - Power consumption of computing devices
