The dataset study was developed to assess the understanding, attitudes, and readiness for self-directed learning among B.Sc. Nursing students regarding stem cell therapy in selected nursing institutions of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The present study aimed to measure how effectively a self-directed learning approach could enhance students\u2019 awareness and perception toward modern biomedical advancements such as stem cell therapy, which has become an emerging field in healthcare and nursing education. A structured online questionnaire was designed and distributed among 400 B.Sc. Nursing students. The tool was validated by experts in nursing and biomedical education to ensure its clarity and accuracy. It consisted of six sections: socio-demographic profile, baseline perceptions, knowledge and understanding test, attitude and perspective scale, self-directed learning readiness, and barriers with ethical concerns. The survey collected data before and after the implementation of a self-directed learning module to compare the level of understanding and attitudinal change among students.The dataset study included information about students\u2019 prior exposure to the topic, their sources of knowledge, and their willingness to learn about advanced therapies. The knowledge test covered basic definitions, clinical applications, sources, and ethical issues related to stem cell therapy. Attitude items reflected students\u2019 openness toward integrating such topics into the nursing curriculum and their interest in participating in future research. The self-directed learning readiness section captured their motivation, learning habits, and ability to manage independent study. All data were anonymized and collected with informed consent. The dataset provided a detailed insight into how self-directed learning strategies could improve conceptual understanding and promote lifelong learning skills among nursing students. It also helped identify common misconceptions and socio-cultural barriers that influence acceptance of stem cell therapy in healthcare education. The dataset may serve as a valuable reference for educators, policymakers, and researchers interested in developing innovative teaching models and evidence-based interventions in nursing and biomedical education.
