Copies of receipts issued for deposits received by the Treasury, the received amount being available as cash at any Government Land Sale or lands open to selection beyond the Settled Districts. Receipts show number, amount, name, address, date. The information was entered in a Register of Land and Immigration Deposit Receipts at the Audit Office in Sydney. They are signed by the Governor, Colonial Secretary, and Colonial Treasurer; and state that they would be transferable by endorsement, in the same manner as a Bill of Exchange.(2/2251). 1 vol.
