Reactivation of long-term stored anammox sludge

Project developed at the School of Engineering of Sao Carlos (EESC) of the University of Sao Paulo (USP)Anammox sludge is necessary for fast start-up of anammox-based reactors due to the slow growth rate of anammox bacteria. However, the feasibility of using long-term stored anammox sludge as an inoculum resource for fast starting-up reactors remains unclear. In this context, long-term stored anammox sludge reactivation was investigated and provided an efficient protocol for shortening the start-up of anammox reactor
