The dataset, “Raw Data_Impulsivity, Self-Control, Delay of Gratification, Upward Social Comparison and Online Shopping Addiction in College Students,” was collected from college students in several universities in China through simple random sampling. Data were gathered via an online survey on the Questionnaire Star platform (www.wjx.cn) from April to June 2025. After excluding invalid responses, the final dataset comprised 836 valid questionnaires. The study examined the associations between impulsivity and online shopping addiction, focusing on the chain mediating roles of self-control and delay of gratification and the moderating role of upward social comparison. This dataset provides empirical evidence on self-regulation and social comparison in digital consumption among college students.
