This dataset corresponds to a qualitative, interpretive study on interactions within a virtual academic writing group of university teacher-researchers. The study examines how different types of interactions contribute to collaborative learning, critical reflection, and group cohesion.
The data include audio recordings, verbatim transcripts of three online meetings, field notes, and coding matrices. Data were collected through participant observation and recorded virtual sessions, with informed consent from all participants.
Transcripts were segmented into interactional episodes and analysed using thematic analysis and episode classification. The dataset shows that, beyond textual feedback, interactions related to group organisation, academic activities, and personal experiences play a key role in sustaining collaboration and collective learning.
The dataset can be used for secondary analyses on academic writing groups, communities of practice, and collaborative learning in higher education.
