Investigation of whole genome gene expression level changes in two strains of the cyanobacteria Atelocyanobacterium thalasaa (UCYN-A) from environmental samples. The diel gene expression analyzed in this study is further described in Muñoz-Marin, M., I. N. Shilova, T. Shi, H. Farnelid & J. P. Zehr. 2017. Unicellular cyanobacterial symbiosis facilitates aerobic nitrogen fixation. Science (to be submitted). Overall design: Two 8x60K array slides and one 4x180K array slide using total RNA extracted from seawater at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier in La Jolla, CA between 28th July and 1st August 2014 during diel cycles. Each chip measures the expression level of 1194 genes from UCYN-A1 and 1244 genes from UCYN-A2 with up to six 60-mer probes per gene.
