Spheroids derived from JAr (human choriocarcinoma) cells were used as an in vitro analogue for human trophoblast. RNA of the trophoblast spheroids were tagged with 5-ethynyl uridine. Tagged spheroids were co-incubated with human endometrial cell analogue (RL 95-2 cell line monolayer). Endometrial RNA was extracted, transferred tagged RNA was affinity precipitated and sequenced.
