资源简介:
The hippocampal formation plays a crucial role in memory and learning processes, and there is strong evidence that individual hippocampal regions are differentially affected by neuropsychiatric disease. The hippocampal formation has been subject of innumerable mapping studies, which provided a rich pool of information at multiple organizational levels, including cytoarchitecture, neurochemical composition, connectivity patterns, and functional characteristics. Here, we aimed to extend this knowledge by focusing on the activity of neurotransmitter receptors in the cornu Ammonis (CA) and dentate gyrus (DG), the two main regions of the hippocampus, by analyzing three molecular modalities in parallel (DNA methylation, RNA transcripts, receptors) in tissue from the same deceased adult donors (controls).
