Oral microbiota and intermediate HPV infection

Full-length 16S rRNA gene sequencing was performed on a healthy cohort of individuals from Australia with varying oral HPV infection status. The goal of this study was to determine whether oral HPV infection and/or HPV infection risk status (i.e high vs. low oncogenic risk) effects the oral microbiota in otherwise healthy individuals without oropharyngeal cancer.
