This dataset is a 1:100,000 scale desert distribution map for the Shule River Basin. It was developed using 2000 TM imagery as the data source, through procedures including interpretation, extraction, revision and refinement. Combining Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies in accordance with the 1:100,000 scale cartographic specifications, thematic mapping was conducted for deserts, sandy lands and gravel gobi.
