cyto7: an open, vertex-level cortical type atlas of the human cortex

cyto7 is an open, vertex-level, seven-type cortical type atlas of the human cerebral cortex, hand-painted on the FreeSurfer fsaverage surface following the García-Cabezas protocol and revised by the protocol's authors. This deposition is a complete, versioned snapshot of the cyto7 release repository, archived so that the resource remains available independently of any code-hosting service. It contains: Atlas products — the released v9 annotations on fsaverage, nearest-neighbour resamples to fs_LR 32k, the per-vertex anatomical support map and its components, and the crossed parcellations (Desikan–Killiany × cyto7 and von Economo × cyto7) with per-node tables and FreeSurfer colour tables. Provenance — the initial as-painted map, the superseded versions, and per-vertex change logs, so that every revision between the first drawing and the released map can be reconstructed. Analysis code — the quality-control, comparison and validation pipelines used in the accompanying paper, with a provenance record (ANALYSIS_PROVENANCE.md) mapping each reported result to the script that produced it. Results and figures — the derived tables and figure sources underlying the paper. Every file is listed with its SHA-256 checksum in dist/SHA256SUMS.txt, so any download can be verified against the released state. No third-party data is redistributed. The datasets used for validation (HCP, ENIGMA, the Allen Human Brain Atlas, the Hansen PET collection, BigBrain and the neuromaps distributions) remain available from their original providers under their own terms.
