The findings in this dataset show a relationship between sociodemographic factors, histopathological characteristics and genetic variability of H. pylori with the development of premalignant lesions in the stomach, dysplasia and cancer. We hypothesize this information can be used for the development of a risk index for gastric cancer, to enable opportune diagnosis of the disease and optimize the use of medical resources in the population at greater risk in Colombia.
